Oil, timber, diamonds, manganese—Ghana is home to some of the world’s most lucrative commodities. But many areas outside the country’s capital lack the infrastructure to scale up. Fulfilling the thousands of ancillary needs that come with a proliferation of industry takes time and money—and lots of it.
So development company wondaworldestates put forth a new vision: Petronia City, a 2,000-acre (809-hectare) metropolis aimed at accelerating Ghana’s industrial ascent, while also providing West Africa’s business magnates with a one-stop shop for sharing resources and knowledge.
Renderings for the proposed coastal outpost reveal a futuristic epicenter with office buildings, hotels, transportation hubs, retail outlets and schools (including a university geared specifically for the oil and gas industry).
