Cade Uluave spent three seasons with the Bears. He earned Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year as a true freshman in 2023 and was granted an All-ACC Honorable Mention his sophomore year. Originally from South Jordan, Utah, Uluave earned first-team All-ACC honors as a junior for the 2025 season after he recorded 100 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss and three sacks. Uluave was named team captain ahead of the 2025 season by former head coach Justin Wilcox and has acted as a crucial leader on the Cal defense. While the Bears have begun to add to their linebacker group with Tristan Jernigan from Texas A&M, Uluave’s departure will bring about significant changes to Cal’s defense and leadership.
