Three hoots for California spotted owls! After 23 years of waiting, while logging operations and climate change threatened their populations, these cute birds will finally get the federal protections they need under the Endangered Species Act. The Center and allies have worked to protect our feathery owl friends for more than 20 years. Today's decision by the USFWS follows a lawsuit and legal agreement and will hopefully bring the owls back from the brink of extinction. P.S. Did you know these owls have a classic four-note call?
