From Librarian Liana Etling: I simply cannot wait any longer to show off our students’ Adopt-a-Shelves! Some are still in progress, but the ones who have created their mini-book displays—completely by their own design—have knocked it out of the park! How does it work? Students apply for their shelf, and all students are allowed to check out books from them. Students are aware they have to keep their shelf 'stocked.' They must keep their shelf for a minimum of 3 weeks, no max time. I use the floating shelves in front of my comfy seating—couch and armchairs. They do not house books. Instead, we use them to display various things throughout the year—Tiny Art Show, photography contest winners, our fireplace before winter break, etc. The displays are curved and double-sided for a total of 24 shelves. #library #schoollibrary #librarian
