The presidential race heads to a runoff in Brazil after a tight election between Lula da Silva and Bolsonaro.
With more than 99% of the votes counted, results showed Luiz Inácio ‘Lula’ da Silva, former president and candidate for the Workers' party, obtained a slight lead with 48.4 % of the votes, against incumbent president Jair Bolsonaro of the Liberal Party who reached 43.2 %. Either candidate would have needed 50% to claim victory in the first round.
Brazilians prepare for another four weeks of campaigning and will decide again on October 30. | October 2, 2022 | 📸: budamendes, aleschneider, wagnermeier, andressa_anholete, pedrovilelai7 |
