Today is Denim Day! The campaign began after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where a rape conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans, she must have helped the person who raped her remove her jeans, thereby implying consent. Since then, many are wearing jeans on this day as a visible means of protest against the misconceptions that surround sexual violence.
Trojan Knights will continue to support survivors and create a safer Trojan community by using our privileges on campus to constantly advocate for students and allow their voices to be heard. If you are a survivor of sexual and/or relationship violence, know that it is never your fault. You are not alone. USC Student Health Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Services (RSVP) is a confidential resource for survivors. You can reach out to RSVP’s confidential advocates and/or clinicians by booking an appointment on MySHR or calling
