twenty six the whisper "What are you doing here, Elijah?" God knew exactly where Elijah was physically and mentally. when God asks a simple question its probably because we don't know where we are, but He's willing to talk it out with us while we try to figure it out. one of the first things people notice about me is how quiet i am. i consider it one of my biggest flaws, but i can't help thinking that God doesn't mind quiet people. in fact, He tells us to be silent. one of my favorite versions is exodus 14:14 “The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be silent." its one of those things that make me want to say "HA!" to every person who points out my quietness. in 1st Kings when Elijah stands on the mountain, God comes to him with a whisper. not the wind, or the earthquake, or the fire.
