Fuelling before a workout gives your body an immediate fuel source and can increase your energy during a workout. When to have a pre-workout snack: If you’ve had a balanced meal in the two hours before your workout, a pre-workout snack might not be needed. But, if not (or you’re feeling a little sluggish), be sure to enjoy a snack before you hit the gym! What to look for in your pre-workout snack : easy to digest, carbohydrate-forward foods. Examples include dried fruit, bread + jelly, bagel + cream cheese, graham crackers, a granola bar, or date-based bars.
