Over the past two months, our social media managers set out to contact all the program's alumnae, with the hope of finding out what players made significant contributions to Saint Mary's Women's Hockey. After receiving much feedback, they landed on a total of eight post-season awards to be announced over the course of the next week leading up to our team banquet. Today's award honors go to Macki Fadness, who held a historical career for the Cardinals from 2012-16. Fadness tallied a total of 30 points, four All-MIAC First-Team selections, a MIAC All-Rookie selection, and the Saint Mary's Female Athlete of the Year Award in her senior year. The Macki Fadness Defensive Player of the Year Award will be presented to the player who displayed significant commitment and performance to their position as a defenseman. #SMUWH #FindAWay
