The last two weeks were a blur of love and liabilities. Week one was spent building a house and tearing down a wall in La Mision, Mexico. The second week we held a VBS at @openarmsmexico Going in to this trip, I had no idea what my purpose for being there was. Yes, I wanted to help and make a difference and experience what HYC was all about, but why Mexico? I didn't figure it out until the last day of VBS. I never realized how much of an impact was made not only on the lives of the kids at the daycare, but on the souls of the volunteers as well. Its crazy how not being able to flush toilet paper can change your perspective on life. I'm so grateful for all of the people that I met on this trip, and to know that these friendships will last forever.
