The Windsor High School boys’ golf team wasn’t able to defend on its home course at Pelican Lakes during the two-day Class 4A state championship. The Wizards tied for fifth out of 14 teams with a team score of 461 (29-over). Cheyenne Mountain won the team event with a score of 445 (13-over), followed by 2021 state champ Riverdale Ridge 449 (17-over). Windsor sophomore Kellen Ball battled in a four-person playoff to determine the individual medalist but his bogey on the first playoff hole, the par 4 18th, wasn’t enough to better Riverdale Ridge junior Bradley Weinmaster’s par. Ball tied for second with a two day score of 144 (even par). It’s the second lowest individual finish at state for a Wizard behind Brentyn Paiz’s first place title a year ago.
