Much like human children, sea wolf puppies love to play, but there’s more going on here than just chaos and karate. Play is an integral part of a young wolf’s life, teaching coordination, building strength, and instilling critical social boundaries that help facilitate healthy relationships.
By six to seven months of age, pups are already following adults on hunts and scavenging along the intertidal zone for marine life. When they reach a few years old, they will likely disperse to start their own packs, carrying with them the coastal adaptations that make them the sea wolves or rain wolves of British Columba.
