Tonight, the New Orleans Jazz Museum proudly celebrates Herb Alpert as he takes the stage at the Orpheum Theater for a sold-out performance in New Orleans. A legendary trumpeter, composer, visual artist, philanthropist, and co-founder of A&M Records, Herb Alpert has left his mark on American music, selling more than 72 million records and shaping generations of artists and listeners. His impact extends well beyond the stage: through the Herb Alpert Foundation, he provided a transformative $5 million matching grant to the New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint, and his sculpture The Bass Man stands as a lasting symbol of that commitment in our sculpture garden.
