For International Women's Day, Mattel is releasing a Barbie in the likeness of Black female space scientist Dr. Maggie Aderin-Pocock, a former president of the British Science Association who is best known for presenting a UK TV show called "The Sky at Night," as well as her work with the James Webb telescope, Reuters reports. Mattel is hoping to inspire young girls to embrace the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by honoring a select group of STEM pioneers with their own Barbie doll.
