We do this as a warmup before we go into soft toss. This reinforces the hitters that we must not lead with the barrel and get outside the ball, but we lead with the knob and stay inside the ball, to allow the barrel to stay in the zone as long as possible. At times by leading with the barrel we tend to dump the barrel and drag it through the zone.
