Winter Soldiers. Early-season MLS might as well be a test of the human body — and mind. For those who made it out there this weekend, props for being our unwavering warriors. They might call you crazy or brainwashed, but we prefer dedicated. Frigid conditions abound, and the RBNY-MNUFC matchup even tested us with a snow game. Can’t say we weren’t tempted to run to the bathroom for some warmth, but miss a minute of MLS-ball? No sir. Give me NYCFC winning their baseball stadium home opener with an own goal. Give me LAFC dominating at BMO. Give me a lopsided derby. Give me a slew of 1-1 draws. We’ll take it all. Sure, on the way home you’ll question why you spent your hard-earned cash to stand in the freezing cold for 90 minutes to watch your club draw, yet again. But we’ll be back there next weekend. And that’s what makes MLS so special. Because we all know a 1-1 draw today means a 5-3 win next weekend. Right?
