Last year we hosted our first ever Women’s Flag Football Championship where Winston-Salem State University earned the inaugural title in Charlotte. This week at the NCAA Convention, the NCAA Division I Cabinet and Division II membership approved women’s flag football as an official Emerging Sport for Women effective for the 2026 spring season, giving the sport a defined pathway toward future varsity and championship status across NCAA athletics.
