Birding from this morning, my main subject being this bold little Carolina wren. She hung around for at least five minutes flitting from one branch to another before we went our separate ways. Carolina wrens have been one of my favorite birds for many years. They are bold and personable. Troublingly, I also found a dead chickadee on the trail. Avian flu? a window collision that it managed to fly away from before succumbing to a brain bleed? It’s impossible to say. #birding #ornithology #birds #nature #wildlife
