The high-speed rail station in Merced may be headed in a new direction.
City leaders are considering a change in locations, a move supporters say could avoid derailing local businesses while also saving time and money for the project.
After discussions with the high-speed rail authority, most of the Merced City Council are on board with changing where the station is built.
