A Glimpse Into the Bootmaking Process - Inseam Trimming
After the boot is removed from the dryer, the welt - or outer portion of the boot sole - is sewn around the toe portion of the boot. Once that is sewn on the excess leather is trimmed and the craftsman removes the tacks holding the boot to the last.
