This is what immigration enforcement activity looks like in Minnesota.
Sometimes it’s confrontational. Sometimes it involves force. Sometimes it is as simple as pulling someone aside, asking a few questions and whisking them away.
This happened on Monday morning 1/12 near the intersection of Chicago and Lake Street. Monitors sometimes sit at bus stops with whistles to try to make noise that could possibly draw attention and encourage ICE and immigration patrols to move along.
We saw them up and down Lake Street that morning. But none were at this bus stop. Commuters other people on foot did start honking horns and blowing whistles after agents approached the woman.
As you can see in the video, they proceeded to take her away. Someone in her family will be looking for her. This is also part of what is happening. People leave the house for work and school or a trip to the grocery store or doctor and they don’t return.
