A border patrol agent carrying a paintball style pepper gun approached the migrants in the image above and told them to, "Put out the fire!" They extinguished the flames with their bare hands and sandaled feet. They very likely spent the entire night out in the cold desert. We were able to give some of them mylar blankets and water. Another group of migrants, this time from Africa, filed past the Lukeville port of entry fencing to be processed under a large canopy. The port of entry is currently closed and the canopy and roadway normally used by vehicles is serving as a processing center of sorts for the hundreds of asylum seekers. We passed small water bottles through the fence as they walked past. We are the Battalion Search and Rescue and we search for the lost but not forgotten.
