Jenkins is quickly becoming a member of favorite Monarch players that I've seen in my lifetime (Petey Sessoms, Mike Jones, Mark Poag, Mario Mullen, Isaiah Hunter, Valdas Vasylius, Kent Bazemore, Frank Hassell, Ben Finney, Richard Ross, Trey Freeman, and Aaron Bacote). I was super excited when he announced he was coming to ODU as a transfer from Wichita St. for his sophomore year. The Monarchs pulled out a win over cross town rival Norfolk State Saturday night, 68-62, with the help of Jenkin's 23 points and 5 rebounds, before a near capacity crowd at  (7,966). Chaunce averaged 16 ppg and led Menchville High School to a 20-4 record and a district title as a senior in 2020, was second team Class 4A All-State selection, and Peninsula District Player of the Year.
