New protests across France were sparked by two no-confidence votes against French President Emmanuel Macron’s government failing in the country’s parliament, clearing the way for his hugely unpopular pension reforms to be implemented.
At least 70 people were detained in the city during the demonstrations on Monday evening, a police source told CNN. There were 169 people detained during protests across France on Saturday, according to the Interior Ministry.
