A message from our CEO, Maureen O'Nell We want to thank all of you who contributed to Piper’s surgery and care. We are so sad to share with you that our sweet angel passed away during surgery today. She was an incredibly special pup who didn’t get the love and care she needed or deserved in life, that is until she came into the Suncoast Humane Society family. We ADORED her silly, wiggly self. Although we don’t definitively know the cause of her passing, we do believe she threw a clot during the procedure to close up her exposed jaw. The clinic team fought hard to revive her, but there was nothing that could bring her back. Thank you all for caring with us. We are sorry for the sorrow, but are glad to know so many of you care so deeply for these underdogs.
