Had a great opportunity to make it to ConExpo last week, a show I’ve always wanted to go to since I got into the construction industry. Over 2.7 MILLION square feet of vendors across hundreds of industries. Took so much away from this trip and the current and future state of the construction industry. The biggest: BATTERY POWERED EQUIPMENT & Autonomy. Yes, it’s coming. We saw MASSIVE pieces of equipment that were battery powered from John Deere and Caterpillar. Other countries have regulations that are requiring contractors to have a certain percentage of electric, zero emissions pieces of equipment to win bids. Mowing Automation is definitely a thing, and companies are working on mapping of larger sites using zero-turn mowers that can go around objects such as fences, trees, and mulch beds.
