[SAVE + SHARE] *Traveling full-time is cheaper for us than living in the USA* 🤯😬So many people have asked how we’ve afforded to travel full-time (we traveled for 18 months in 2021-2022 and are now on a 2-month trip in Asia) but the truth is that it’s been cheaper than our life in NYC and Miami! ___ Let’s talk numbers and use New York City as an example. With the average monthly rent in Manhattan hovering at around $4100 USD (for a 1 bedroom 😳) and monthly childcare costs totaling anywhere from $1750 to $2800, living in The Big Apple can be insanely expensive if you a) don’t want roommates and b) have dependents. While we enjoyed our 5 years in the city, we also loved the idea of being able to travel the world full-time for far less money. 😊 ___ Most months our total travel expenses come out to less than half of what we paid for our apartment in New York City (we used to live in a neighborhood called Long Island City, which is in Queens, just north of trendy Williamsburg, Brooklyn)....
