“Everywhere we go in the United States, our officers are out there conducting enforcement actions, and they're doing it lawfully and with professionalism,” says Marcos Charles, an ICE official who oversees arrests and deportations nationwide, including “Operation Metro Surge” in Minneapolis. But incidents, like an officer dragging a woman and another pointing his gun at bystanders, have raised questions about ICE’s conduct. Marcos says no officers in Minneapolis have been disciplined in connection with those actions.
