“They’re not just pets. They’re family,” Australian Trevor Sullivan says of his saltwater crocodiles. He keeps 10 in his backyard, most of which were rescued from crocodile farms and research facilities. Sullivan believes his crocodiles don’t see him as their next meal; instead, they know he is the one who brings them food. They’re just like dogs, he says, which eat meat and generally don’t see humans as food.
