Australia’s saltwater crocodiles are the world’s largest reptiles, weighing over a ton, and have a bite force strong enough to crush a human skull. But Trevor Sullivan, a self-described conservationist, says they are misunderstood and should be respected, not feared. “Humans are far more scary. We kill each other for a lot less, for money. And crocodiles only kill for food,” he says. Sullivan keeps 10 saltwater crocodiles in his backyard as pets, feeding them whole chickens by hand. He rescued most of them from crocodile farms and research facilities, including the largest, Shah, whom he says is over 120 years old and missing part of his jaw. #crocodiles #salties #australia #pets
