Only 17 people have ever finished the infamously punishing Barkley Marathons, and last week French ultrarunner Aurélien Sanchez became one of them. Sanchez says he's still having nightmares after the race, waking up in a panic thinking he's still on the 100-plus mile course. He was the first to finish the 2023 edition of the race in Tennessee's Frozen Head State in a time of 56 hours and 23 minutes, ahead of American John Kelly and Belgian Karel Sabbe.
