Ottawa needs to stop handing out blank cheques and start demanding guarantees: real jobs, real protections and real penalties when companies break their commitments. Stellantis and Algoma Steel were given hundreds of millions in public support, and they’re cutting thousands of good jobs. The federal government’s job is to stand up for workers. Not corporations.
