An infrared-equipped drone played a crucial role in a nighttime lake rescue in Baiyin, northwest China, helping locate and save a person who had fallen into an artificial lake on January 15. With visibility extremely limited, rescue teams deployed a drone within minutes. Using infrared thermal imaging and an onboard searchlight, the drone quickly pinpointed the person in the water, guiding rescuers to the exact location.
