You never know who you are going to meet and what stories you may hear when delivering to MOW West's homebound clients. Just last Friday, our staff delivered to a client in Venice by the name of Raul. Originally hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Raul has been living in Venice since 1980. MOW West has been delivering meals to him since Fall 2020. Raul shared with us how he used to play professional soccer for one of Argentina's biggest clubs, River Plate. Raul is joined at home by his furry companion Mr. Patches, who follows him everywhere around the house! When asked how important Mr. Patches is to him, Raul told us a story about how years ago, he was sitting down and talking to Mr. Patches outside a local grocery store. When someone stopped and asked him why he was having a conversation with his dog, Raul replied, "I speak to him like a person because he understands me just as humans do."
