This May, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) leads the nation in celebrating #OlderAmericansMonth where we honor and acknowledge the contributions of our elders in our communities. This year's theme is #AgeMyWay, with a focus on how older adults can age in place independently at home while still being vital members of their communities. This is really what Meals on Wheels West is all about. Through our meal deliveries, we work to ensure that our clients do not have to choose between aging in place at home, and a healthy and nutritious meal. With the help of our volunteers, we foster Community Connections between them and their homebound neighbors who sometimes simply just want another face to see or voice to hear. Keep checking back with us throughout the month as we share stories and resources highlighting older adults, and be sure to participate as well by visiting and using #OlderAmericansMonth.
