Some lucky GT-R fan is going home from Tokyo Auto Salon with a special souvenir: this 1-of-11 Tommykaira R-Z produced as a complete car by the legendary Japanese tuning house in 1999. Based on the BNR34, this one being a V-Spec to boot, Tommykaira made the 365-hp R, the 420-hp R-S and the 530-hp R-Z seen here. Every R-Z featured extreme styling, a bored RB26 engine with custom crankshaft and turbo, and Bilstein shocks with magnesium wheels. Tommykaira thought the R-Z represented what the regular BNR34 GT-R *should* have been — more dedicated, less compromising.
