“We have a right to raise our kids, we have a right to freedom, we have a right to self-expression ... Those rights will not be taken away by the legislature. Not now, not ever.” Texans and members of the @utaustintx community protested at the Texas Capitol on Monday against anti-trans legislation that would prohibit gender-affirming care to transgender youth. If two bills, House Bill 1686 and Senate Bill 14 are passed, they would prohibit gender transitioning in youth in Texas.
