More police is never the answer. Our students deserve safe, healthy, and equitable learning environments. Denver Public Schools has violated the DPS resolution led by PJU and other community organizations & members that took Denver Police and SROs off school campuses. They are now increasing their armed security force by 25% and trying to give them the power to issue tickets to students- completely violating the point of the resolution, which was to stop the ticketing and arrests of students. Denver Public Schools continues to police and criminalize children, harming black, Latinx, LGBTQ+ students, and students with disabilities the most. Let’s take action NOW.
