This is where I first learned how to hand set wood and lead type.  At Centre[3], I'm building on this work and my interest in combining letterpress printing with archival materials. The work I'm doing uses news stories about the Canadian labour movement and reflects on the radical history of typesetting. I have been developing a method of typesetting and hand-cutting as a metaphor for the impacts of economic austerity, the loss of shared histories, and barriers to communication and understanding in contemporary workplaces.
