Javaan has been training with the Braves each week during their preseason in the lead up to the Christmas Holidays. . Spending some time in the United States, Mumtaz played for the University of Eastern New Mexico (NCAA D2), where he averaged 5.5 points, and 1.4 rebounds. . Javaan, will be entering his second basketball season in Australia. The New Zealand native made his way to Australia last season where he played down the road, for the Shepparton Gators. Last season Javaan averaged 17.8 points, 5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
