April is Premenstrual Disorders Awareness Month ✨ As someone who lives with PMDD, this month is super important to me. I’ve been experiencing PMDD symptoms throughout college and had it the most severe in 2021. I finally got diagnosed days before the new year and started zoloft the same day. Ever since, I have healed so much and finally feel like myself on a daily basis again (for the most part). Recently I’ve been having a more difficult time in my follicular phase and the first 2-3 days of my period. PMDD unfortunately comes in waves, and right now I’m struggling to swim a little.
I encourage you all to read this and spread awareness — most people think “period depression” is normal. People with PMDD are also misdiagnosed with conditions like bipolar.
