[SAVE + SHARE] We stan a multilingual queen 👸🏾❤️! As a multicultural family who travels globally, exposing Kira to multiple languages has always been a top priority! At 3 years old she speaks fluent English and German and can now say and understand a number of commands in Spanish (mostly due to our extensive travels in Latin America and the fact that her daycare in Miami is bilingual). ⭐️ We recently spent 2 months traveling through Asia and to our surprise, she started picking up phrases in Thai and Bahasa Indonesian as well🙌🏾. As an aspiring polyglot myself (I speak English, French, Spanish, and German) I love this for her and can’t wait to see where her language skills take her! ⭐️ Beyond the obvious benefits, multilingualism fosters empathy, and some studies show it increases cognitive function and the ability to multitask.
