Battling 20 mph gusty winds and slick greens, the Windsor girls’ golf team finished third at the 18-team Cheyenne Mountain Showcase Invitational today held at The Country Club of Colorado in Colorado Springs 🥉 The Wizards placed three golfers among the top 10 out of 95 and finished with a team score of 364 (80-over par). Sophomore Macy Kleve paced the team with an 85 (14-over) to tie for sixth place. Senior Paige Bretz, in her first event of the season, shot an 89 (18-over) to tie for 10th, as did junior teammate Alexa Strohman. Sophomore Abbie Winterbottom’s 101 (30-over) tied for 27th and senior Mary D’Ovidio’s 107 placed her in a tie for 40th. Windsor finished 11 strokes behind co-winners, host Cheyenne Mountain and Discovery Canyon. The Wizards return to the links on Wednesday for the Mead League Match at Coyote Creek.
