“ Somebody I Used To Know” - gotye kimbramusic / lmnlspace_ 1 Year Showcase My goal with this piece was to adapt an old freestyle round into a stage piece, but it turned into something so fun & freeing for me creatively. Getting to play this character in an environment that pushes me to expand myself was awesome, AND big shoutout to the wondeful stranger who ended up being the “friend” I used to know in the corner involuntarily… thank you for going with the bit ( and sorry I flipped you off 🥹🫶🏽 ) This piece explores the complex & various emotions that come up when navigating how to be in the same room as someone you are no longer friends with. Losing really great friendships is really hard to talk about, especially throughout quarantine/the past few months & many stem from a simple miscommunication on either side.
