A new ranking is calling a Portland-area swimming area the best skinny dipping spot in the United States and oddly enough, that swimming area isn’t Rooster Rock. The ranking, from My Dating Advisor, of the top 100 places to skinny dip in the world, lists Washington’s Washougal River as the seventh-best skinny dipping spot on the entire planet and the first in the country. Setting aside the fact that the Washougal is a whole river with multiple spots for swimming, the question is, do people swim there in the nude? There are plenty of places in the Portland area a person could go to swim sans suit, but the Washougal? The Washougal is a place, as My Dating Advisor noted, “to perch and picnic on the rocks while swimming amidst fast and flowing streams.” These rocks don’t seem, in this reporter’s opinion, to lend themselves to the naked undercarriage.
