In 2023 baseball will introduce a new rule. A pitch clock in order to speed up the game. Similar to an NBA shot clock, there will be a 15 second timer between pitches with no one on base and a 20 second timer with runners on base. This will help speed up pace of play as hitters will have to get ready to hit quicker and pitchers can’t take forever to deliver the ball.
