The Dominican Team had an All-Star roster. But they were ousted early from the World Baseball Classic. What happened? 🤔 The team was loaded with MLB talent with only 2 players on the Dominican Republic roster who aren’t currently signed to an MLB team. But even with all their talent, the Dominican Republic Team went 2-2 in Pool C. And the team didn’t advance to the quarterfinals. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was expected to make a big impact. But Guerrero Jr. didn’t play because of a knee injury. The Dominican Team missed his power-hitting. The pitching also wasn’t there for the Dominican Team. In two starts of 5.2 combined innings, aces Sandy Alcantara and Johnny Cueto gave up six runs. Now, the Dominican Team will have to wait till 2026 to see if they can claim the WBC title.
