Who is the Best DH in Baseball? Bryce Harper took the designated hitter position by storm last season.
Harper didn’t have the most traditional path to becoming a designated hitter, but he is currently one the most successful.
Harper moved to DH last season after an injury, which limited his effectiveness in the outfield. The move to DH meant his bat was still active in the lineup. And that bat produced.
Last year, Harper hit .287 with a slugging percentage of .514. He also racked up 65 RBIs. At one point last season, Harper missed ten games, but he still ranked second in the National League in batting average and on base percentage.
The fans certainly agreed as they voted Harper into the All-Star Game as the DH.
Harper is expected to remain the Phillies’ DH this year. And without last year’s injury to hold him back, his numbers are expected to increase.
