Many MLB veterans are on track to have big seasons. Which veteran player will have the best season? I think it’s Adam Wainwright who is one of the oldest veterans in MLB baseball this season. In what will be his final season, Wainwright is looking to make a splash before he says his farewell to baseball. The Cardinals’ pitcher has 195 MLB wins in his 18-year career, so a decrease in his velocity is of little concern to the Cardinals. Wainwright is rebounding from leg, glute, and back issues, which has limited his range of motion, causing the velocity of his pitches to drop. As he always has, Wainwright will find his form soon. His pitch velocity is increasing with each start, and the pitcher has been reliable over his career, pitching in 457 career games. He boasts 2,147 career strikeouts with a career ERA of 3.38.
