We haven't seen much hype about the new Makita Sync Lock battery lockdown system, but it is a cool idea. It disables operation and charging of Makita 18V batteries by programming a lock-out schedule which can be preset by day, time and calendar. It doesn't stop people from stealing batteries, but it does make them useless to steal if they're programmed with this. It comes with a bunch of stickers you can put on your batteries to show they are protected with this system.
